The company's product portfolio includes semi-finished products, pipes and fittings
as well as finished parts. The range of semi-finished products consists of sheets, rods, profiles
and welding rods. Displaying superior resistance to aggressive chemicals, these products are used

engineering. Other key areas in which SIMONA's high-performance plastics are used include
mechanical engineering, automotive applications, life sciences, structural engineering and
advertising.
SIMONA pipes and fittings are mainly deployed within the utility and waste disposal industry
as well as in the field of landfill engineering. In addition, our piping systems have become highly
sought after as solutions for cutting-edge industrial applications.
Product diversity, quality and best-in-class technical service have been inextricably linked
with the SIMONA name for the last 150 years. Beyond our comprehensive range of standardised
products, we also develop customised solutions tailored to the requirements of virtually any
application imaginable. Committed to excellence, our finely honed logistics and global distribution
network ensure that SIMONA solutions are delivered to customers wherever and whenever they are
required.
The principal materials processed by our company include polyethylene (PE), polypropylene
(PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene terephthalate (PETG), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)
and ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene (E-CTFE). Additionally, we use a range of specialist materials
designed for specific purposes, such as orthopaedic applications.
Delivering added value
SIMONA is committed to an international growth strategy that includes achieving a
number of ambitious goals:
- We want to improve people's quality of life in a sustainable and resource-efficient
manner by providing
high-calibre products and services in a range of different areas, e.g.
environmental and energy technology,
life sciences and the utilities sector.
- We want to generate global sales revenue of EUR 500 million by 2012, through organic
growth
and acquisitions.
- We want to penetrate new regional growth markets, particularly in Eastern Europe and
South America.
- We want to position ourselves as a premium supplier within the global arena, while
drawing on and further
extending the unique strengths of the SIMONA brand: quality, diligence and
reliability.
- At the same time, we want to maintain our independence from others, an essential
pillar of our
corporate success.
- We want to develop our team worldwide and recruit high-achievers from our own ranks
and beyond.
Commitment and responsibility
Our success is based to a large extent on the efforts of our high-calibre staff and
their unwavering dedication. Indeed, professional development and personal advancement form an
integral part of our day-to-day activities – and this applies not only to our employees. We also
offer our clients a range of highly targeted training programmes, implemented either at our
Technical Service Centre or at the customer's premises.
SIMONA is committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions to address some of the most pressing
issues facing our society in the future. Plastics are predestined for applications within the field
of environmental protection, energy provision, mobility and water supply. We have formulated a
corporate strategy that is targeted closely at these areas of business. SIMONA is a pioneer in
environmental protection. For decades, we have been producing PVC sheets without hazardous lead
stabilisers. 95% of the waste produced during operations is recycled.
Committed to its social responsibilities, SIMONA supports a number of aid projects,
educational facilities and other initiatives throughout the region and beyond. In 2007, Anita
Bürkle, widow of Dr. Wolfgang Bürkle, who was SIMONA AG's CEO and later Chairman of the Supervisory
Board for many years, established a foundation by the name of "Dr. Wolfgang und Anita Bürkle
Stiftung". The shares in SIMONA AG bequeathed to Mrs. Bürkle by her late husband were transferred
to this foundation. Its objective is to support and promote worthy causes in the town of Kirn and
the region as a whole.
Quality, diligence and reliability
SIMONA has established a track record spanning more than 150 years, built on its
commitment to quality, diligence and reliability. Established in 1857 as a leather processing
business, Carl Simon Söhne soon evolved into a company of international renown, reaching its zenith
in the first decade of the 20th century. However, the two world wars that followed resulted in the
total collapse of the European leather industry – precipitating SIMONA into a full-scale crisis.
The company sought out new lines of business – and found them in the plastics industry. Since then,
SIMONA has flourished and grown, establishing itself as a leading player within the field of
plastics manufacturing. Displaying energy and dynamism, we intend to pursue our ambitious goals and
meet our customers' exacting standards. Around the globe. With total commitment. And always one
step ahead of others.
