Strategic focus: safety and the environment
SIMONA is determined to establish itself as one of the leading global suppliers of extruded semi-finished thermoplastics and related products for safety-critical and eco-specific applications.
We have identified the energy, water and commodity industry as well as environmental technology, mobility and life sciences as key growth markets of the future.

Our Mission
  • We are committed to offering the best possible solution to meet specific requirements – from plastics (selection of material) and products (process engineering) to packaging and transport. This is considered our most important "unique selling proposition" for all markets worldwide. We want to be the primary point of contact for our customers in the international markets of relevance to our business.
  • Our products make a contribution when it comes to addressing key challenges facing society as a whole.
  • We have far-reaching expertise in process engineering with regard to the manufacture of semi-finished thermoplastics and the modification of such products for specific fields of application.
  • We offer valuable complementary services in the form of technical consulting.
  • We want to develop our team worldwide and recruit high-achievers from our own ranks and beyond.

Our business objectives
  • In 2014, we aim to generate annual revenue of EUR 500 million within the SIMONA Group.
  • We want to achieve above-average growth in the emerging economies of Asia and Eastern Europe (including Russia) as well as South America and capture an additional share of the market.
  • As regards the mature European markets, we want to secure our market share and generate growth through new applications.
  • Our aim is to maintain an EBIT margin of more than 5 per cent p.a.
  • As part of our strategic development, we are open to the possibility of corporate acquisitions.

Commitment and responsibility
Our success is based to a large extent on the efforts of our high-calibre staff and their unwavering dedication. Indeed, professional development and personal advancement form an integral part of our day-to-day activities – and this applies not only to our employees. We also offer our clients a range of highly targeted training programmes, implemented either at our Technical Service Centre or at the customer's premises.

SIMONA is committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions to address some of the most pressing issues facing our society in the future. Plastics are predestined for applications within the field of environmental protection, energy provision, mobility and water supply. We have formulated a corporate strategy that is targeted closely at these areas of business. SIMONA is a pioneer in environmental protection. For decades, we have been producing PVC sheets without hazardous lead stabilisers. 95% of the waste produced during operations is recycled. We are committed to the continuous improvement of our energy efficiency levels within production. At the same time, we aim to achieve certification in accordance with DIN EN 16001 "Energy Management Systems" in 2011.

Committed to its social responsibilities, SIMONA supports a number of aid projects, educational facilities and other initiatives throughout the region and beyond. In 2007, Anita Bürkle, widow of Dr. Wolfgang Bürkle, who was SIMONA AG's CEO and later Chairman of the Supervisory Board for many years, established a foundation by the name of "Dr. Wolfgang und Anita Bürkle Stiftung". The shares in SIMONA AG bequeathed to Mrs. Bürkle by her late husband were transferred to this foundation. Its objective is to support and promote worthy causes in the town of Kirn and the region as a whole.

Quality, diligence and reliability
SIMONA has established a track record spanning more than 150 years, built on its commitment to quality, diligence and reliability. Established in 1857 as a leather processing business, Carl Simon Söhne soon evolved into a company of international renown, reaching its zenith in the first decade of the 20th century. However, the two world wars that followed resulted in the total collapse of the European leather industry – precipitating SIMONA into a full-scale crisis. The company sought out new lines of business – and found them in the plastics industry. Since then, SIMONA has flourished and grown, establishing itself as a leading player within the field of plastics manufacturing. Displaying energy and dynamism, we intend to pursue our ambitious goals and meet our customers' exacting standards. Around the globe. With total commitment. And always one step ahead of others.

Investor Relations
SIMONA AG shares are traded in the General Standard of Deutsche Börse, Frankfurt, as well as in Düsseldorf. Approximately 11% of our stock is held in free float, i.e. by the wider public. We are committed to a consistent and stable dividend policy, together with an attractive dividend yield.
