Mechanical Engineering

Product range

Mechanical engineering places enormous demands on the chemical resistance and processing qualities of high-performance plastics. SIMONA semi-finished plastics are equal to this challenge. Processing a wide range of materials, we have developed an extensive portfolio consisting of pressed and extruded semi-finished products.

Owing to its UV stabilisation, PE-HWU is ideal for outdoor applications. On account of its outstanding processing capability and its excellent cost/benefit ratio, PE-HWU is used in areas from chemical apparatus construction to applications within food-related sectors. Backed sheets are perfectly tailored to the requirements of composite construction and linings.

PE-HWU-B (PE 80) is a special material made of a moulding compound used for tanks/vessels requiring mandatory test certificates. Thus, it is supplied with DIBt approval. Owing to its UV-stabilised design and excellent processing properties, PE-HWU-B is particularly suited to tank and equipment construction.

Furnished with DIBt approval, PE 100 is a material suited specifically to the construction of tanks and vessels requiring mandatory test certificates. It offers outstanding material properties and diversity of processing.

PE-HWST is a high-heat resistant polyethylene specially designed for indoor applications. Owing to the many different processing capabilities, PE-HWST can be deployed for a diverse range of applications. PE-HWST features physiological safety for contact with food.

PE-EL is a high-heat resistant, UV-stabilised, electrically conductive product designed for explosion protection to counteract static. PE-EL can therefore be used both in chemical apparatus and tank/vessel construction and is ideal for applications in the electrical industry. It can be used in all other potentially explosive atmospheres where sparks might occur as a result of static.

SIMONA® PE-HML 500 is made of high-molecular-weight polyethylene (PE-HMW) featuring superb impact strength and abrasion resistance. Due to their outstanding processing capabilities and superior wear resistance, these products are suited to a wide range of applications – from chemical tank and equipment construction to food production.

dehoplast® PE-500 is a high-molecular-weight polyethylene (PE-HMW) featuring superb impact strength and abrasion resistance. Due to their outstanding processing capabilities and superior wear resistance, products made of this material are suited to a wide range of applications – from transport, materials handling and storage technology to food production.

Special importance is attached to ultra high molecular weight polyethylene dehoplast® PE 1000. The sheets feature extremely high wear resistance and abrasion resistance to metals and other materials. Thus, dehoplast® PE 1000 is ideal for machined components which are subject to high demands in terms of abrasion resistance and wear resistance. This is complemented by excellent mechanical properties. In addition, our range includes several highly cost-effective regrind products.
